Truck Accident Fatalities are Quite Common

Statistics show that nearly 800 people die in trucking accidents each year on Virginia roadways. Rather than driving around with a false sense of security, you need to realize the damage that these types of vehicles can do. Even if a person is not killed in a collision with a big rig, they can face a lot of injuries as a result. Getting back on track following this type of accident can be difficult without the help of a lawyer. When working with a lawyer who is familiar with these types of accidents, you can figure out what type of compensation you may be entitled to.

What Generally Causes These Types of Accidents?

One of the main things most people want to know about trucking accidents is how they happen. There are a variety of situations that can cause these types of accidents. Distracted driving is among the most common causes of trucking accidents. If a truck driver is not paying attention to the road, it is easy for them to lose control and plow into another motorist. Another common cause of trucking accidents is a lack of maintenance. If a truck driver or the company they work for fail to make an effort to keep their rig safe and functional, it can lead to crashes.
