August 30, 2020 – Fatal Car Crash in Augusta County, Virginia.
A three-car collision occurred on Route 262 in Augusta County on August 30, 2020. At approximately 10.a.m, a vehicle which was traveling northbound along Rte. 262, drifted into oncoming traffic and collided with the front of another vehicle which was traveling in the opposite direction on Rte. 262. The accident resulted in one fatality and in severe injuries to another individual who was air lifted to UVA Medical Centre for urgent medical treatment.
According to Sergeant Sean Simmons of Virginia State Police, there have been several serious accidents on this route over the years. Sergeant Simmons advises drivers to “Pay attention, just make sure you’re always being alert,” and to “Give plenty of distance between you and the vehicle in front of you and just always watch where you are going.” This car crash is still under investigation.
