Truck Accidents: A road safety issue.
May 2020 – Truck drivers are essential, moving important goods throughout the country and helping us keep the economy afloat in these difficult times. However, they also represent a significant amount of accidents and other road safety issues.
In late April, in Montgomery County, two people risked their lives, when their truck overturned on the road. The recent accident happened on Connecticut & Georgia Avenue, and it involved an alcohol delivery truck. The resulting collision left two people severely injured. The truck driver was trapped inside, and he needed help to get out of the truck. However, responders managed to extricate him, and he was promptly taken to a nearby hospital. The man was diagnosed with significant traumatic injuries, and is currently under close watch. There was also a passenger on board who suffered non-threatening injuries.
This is only one of many examples of road accidents related to truck drivers. Besides being aware of important safety measures and accident prevention, it is critical to know what to do legally in case of injuries and property damage. Truck accidents and personal safety should not be taken lightly. Should you experience a similar occurrence, contacting an attorney is a vital step.
