The Fairfax Division of the Virginia State Police was hit particularly hard by this winter storm. During the course of the storm, they responded to 68 reports of traffic accidents and 81 stuck or disabled vehicles.
Some Fatal Crashes Reported
Although the state saw over 300 vehicle crashes during the January storm, most accidents were relatively minor. The majority only caused vehicle damage. However, state troopers did respond to some fatal vehicle crashes. Three fatal accidents occurred across the state. Accidents in Pulaski County, Brunswick County, and Norfolk caused a total of three fatalities.
